This is a term that the British use a whole lot. For the past seven years, I've lived in London and I've never felt like it was the right place for me. Feeling disconnected from where you live can have a lot of pretty negative impacts on your state of mind. For me, it's led to depression, isolation and a growing reluctance to even leave the house. Hurray for lists!!

I hope you have lots of fun in Berlin, and look forward to hearing more about your efforts to enjoy the UK when you get back.

My own list at the moment has stalled on cycling and parks, but, you know, I don't even live in a place where I can buy chard.

Part of my garden experiment this year was growing chard. It's done well at becoming tender baby chard but not the big tasty stuff I'm used to cooking. If the experiment becomes more successful, maybe I will be able to supply you with some.
