Are you unhappy with the way Season 7 ended up like I am...with Dean in Purgatory and not calling out for Sam, I know WTF right? Where the hell did the bromance go? Are you upset with the writing going downhill for ALL the characters? Then do something about it ( Read more... )

Actually I am glad that Dean did not call out for Sam. It would have been weird had he done so. He is not alone, Castiel is there with him so for him to be the one yelling would have seemed cliche for me and out of character. Now Sam on the other hand is the one that I believe should have called out for Dean. He is alone, he is freaking, Crowley left him with a very doomsday type reply. His calling out would have made total sense. *nods*

As for speaking out about the show, I know what you mean about Season 6 getting "fixed" however, I do not for one second believe that they listened to anything that we may or may not have said. As long as Kripke is happy with the way things are going, nothing will change. The reason it did in Season 6 was that it was not what Kripke had planned on with Sam taking that long to get his soul back, or so I heard. If I am wrong then I appologize but I was told that it was him that came to the rescue of the show and made the changes and got them back somewhat on track.

As for the campaign of which you speak, I just looked it over and as a Destiel fan AND a wincest fan, I see no problems with the way it is now.

Let me explain...

As a writer I see that the boys MUST change and grow. Sam no longer is that doe eyed young man he use to be that needed to have his big (gorgeous, hot, wonderful, stupendous) brother help get him out of every situation, if he was then he would have NO GROWTH. A character in a book, movie or television show MUST have growth if you want the show/book/movie, etc to continue. To keep Sam stunted back to that child-like young man he once was would keep them stangnet. Which means that you are not seeing the vision and the point of Supernatural. Kripke started this show as being a look at the lives of two brothers, who are soul-mates (oh calm down Wincesters) and that are two sides to the same coin. It was to show their different paths in life and how despite this, they always stick together, "Family comes first before anything", it is like the Winchester war cry and we all know this. And that, "Family don't end with blood". From this we are introduced to characters such as Bobby and Castiel (almost said Misha. LOL) and we see that indeed Family does NOT end with blood as there are no two characters as much like family to Sam and Dean (BOTH so hush you Sam girls!) than Bobby and Castiel.

That being said, for this journey that Kripke has embarked us all on, these two characters, Sam and Dean, must grow and evolve. To not, is to end the show where it lies.

The only thing that I wish for Season 8 is that they take a deeper look into Dean's character. For seven seasons they have delved into Sam and told us of the "Boy with the demon blood". Now I want to see about the Man who would die for his family and who carries the weight of the world on his shoulders. This is what we need to see before the end of the show and the conclusion of the story of Sam and Dean Winchester.

Otherwise, as much as I miss that doe eyed boy of so long ago (when was S1 like 70 years ago? Sure as hell feels like it) I know that we can never go back to him. He died along with his brother in Season three, right there on the floor of that home where they went to find Lilith. Sorry, but it is the truth. Just as we will never hear those words that we all long to so badly and that rips at our hearts each time the moment passes by without either of them muttering "jerk", "bitch".

Now we must look ahead to where they will end up and not back at where they were. Just as a child grows up and becomes an adult, so has the characters from OUR SHOW. They are men now and thus, not as they once were.

I completely agree with you on the boys needing to grow and move forward, be men instead of the youngsters were met 7 years ago, that's not what bothers me.

What bothers me is that they are grown men who are brothers, who have and would die for each other yet the last half of the season we barely saw a glimpse of that between them. That "was" the basis for our show when it started, what drew people in and grabbed them by the heartstrings. Many brothers fans have fallen by the wayside unfortunately, given up on seeing it ever again. When Dean was domesticated in S6, many fans quit watching and never came back (you can look at the ratings difference in S5 and 6.

And I would LOVE for Dean to finally have a story line that would be worthy of him, OMG how long have I been asking for that? We need to see him feel like he is important, like what he's sacrificed does mean something and for him to realize that he's more than just Sam's big brother. I even asked Jensen about that in the M&G in Nashville, if Dean would ever feel that way and of course he said that Dean is always the big brother and Sam will always be his first priority. Even Jensen knows what the story is, or used to be about...what Kripke started it out with and his quotes are on the Silent Majority website "It's a human story about two brothers...."

They've gotten away from that though so no I don't think Kripke is putting his two cents in much these days for the show he loved for 5 years. He's got other things going on and can't be bothered. If he sat down and watched the last two seasons he may throw up in a bucket and then call Bob Singer and give him a piece of his mind :D

Thanks for your thoughts bb and if you want to gripe, I'm always here to listen (and thanks for listening to me) ;p

Yes, I know that people left when they nearly ruined Dean. I was one who was on the way out, hating what they had done to OUR BOY and with who. (Friggin' HATE that bitch beyond belief.)

So I know and understand what you are talking about. Had they done it right and not tried to make Dean look like an ass when he came back, like he hadn't GROWN UP in the life (hunting) and had it just be that he came back, it wouldn't have been as bad (even having that troll of a woman as his PAST love interest), however Sera thought that to bring Sam up, she had to tear Dean down and that is soooooo not correct. That is like a Stephanie Myers way of writing. Crap, crap, crap. And so, SHE ruined Season 6 for that as well as the want to use the hell out of her vibrators and see Jared shirtless over and over what with his being soulless and a douche bag. Apparently Miss Gamble has some major issues she needs to see someone about regarding what kind of a man turns her on. *shudders*

At any rate, I think that we all need to relax and just see where this NEW show runner takes us. It sure as hell can't be any worse than Sera Gamble. YUCK, YUCK, and DOUBLE YUCK! *flips off Sera* Good riddance to bad rubbish!

Yes and I was one who was talking you down off the ledge and tried to keep you from leaving (you may remember that vaguely) :D

We'll here it is two years later and we'll still here. I had such high hopes for Season 7 and it started out so great but something changed mid season. Honestly I think it's something higher up the food chain than the writers have control over but I won't go into that here. Let's just say that the Winchesters chemistry was getting a little too close for comfort...and the new president has more $$$ on his mind that quality TV.

SG leaving is a whole 'nother story we can talk about elsewhere ;)

Actually I thought that toward the end of Season 7 was better than the beginning. I was livid that she had Dean proving himself again in the damn Egypian God episode. I wanted to throtle her so fuckin' bad it was pathedic and if I ever have the displeasure of coming face to face with Miss Gamble I plan to, wherever I am, give her a piece of my mind...which no doubt will send her running away crying, but oh well...no one messes with MY ♥Dean♥. (OR my ♥Castiel♥ for that matter.) *nods*

Personally, after what I have witnessed at the Eyecon I went to when Jared came out nearly in tears and starting tearing into us about J2 and how he and Jensen were not lovers and that he hated to smash our sick fantasies, yadda yadda yadda, I would go so far as to hold his phobia of that accountable as well as the CW network itself. And yes, he apparently has the power to do that since he mentioned wanting to do an episode where he worked out and he not only got one he got two of them. *huffs and shakes head*

The dropped story lines this season were enormous. Dean's downward spiral went no where and Sam's hell story went to Cas, it was way too convenient IMO. It's like the writers just got lazy and forgot about the previous 6 years of history *screams*

I saw Jared's little tirade from Eyecon (the short little vid) and yeah he was really pushing it hard (not literally lol). The boom has been lowered on them and it's worming it's way into the show now which is just pure paranoia on everyone's part.

All we can do is bitch and gripe (and write letters) to make ourselves feel a little better but TBH it's mainly just raising my blood pressure to dangerous levels...and I've got enough on my plate already.

You know I'm not combative or argumentative but I am very passionate about some things. The show is one of those things that is now ingrained in my soul, but sometimes I wish I was still clueless to the fandom side of it *sigh*
