The Apprentice Aftermath

Just watched The Apprentice finale and I am astonished.  Simply astonished.  I was thrilled that Randal won.  He truly deserved it.  But I was also positive that at the same moment "The Donald" announced Randall as the winner, he would announce Rebecca as the co-winner!  And when this didn't happen, I was fine with it.  Good for Randal, I thought ( Read more... )

I can see both of your points, but I do agree with Randall. It was shocking considering he was so laid back and kind throughout the whole thing, but I don't think it was rude of him to say no. I think he was exactly right. Its a contest, a game, its supposed to have one winner. I saw him on the Today show say if someone wins a gold medal in the Olympics they don't ask them to share it. I totally agree and I do think that Randall was a better candidate than Rebecca so I think he should have won straight out. He raised $11,000 for the charity and she raised $0. A clear winner.

I think Trump put Randall in a bad position by asking him to decide. Trump should have just hired Randall as THE Apprentice and then told Rebecca he'd find a place elsewhere in his organization in an entry level position since she was also a strong candidate. I remember Kwame was a strong candidate along with Bill and he didn't ask Bill to share the position. I don't know why he did it now and think its bad that Randall's image would be tarnished by it at all. It was unfair of Trump to put him in that position.

Yeah, I can appreciate your point, and maybe I am just mad at The Donald for putting him in that horrible position. But I still think Randall had a huge opportunity to be the bigger person. It's not really like winning a gold medal, IMO - that is a prize given to a clear winner when two people are running the same race. These were two people with different talents and leadership styles doing two projects with lots of different variables. My point: there is always room for more gifted leadership. I just don't think it's the same. At the very least, I wish he would have handled it better. He just didn't strike me as a gracious winner.
