Not too much new going on this week. Work has been fine, and I'm anxiously awaiting Friday, when I have a semi-huge meeting with the CEO of my company, our CMO, and the top three sales directors. I've been preparing like a madwoman for it, so I am praying that I've left no stone unturned.
In slightly related news, I decided to drop my calc class for next semester, and gulp, am replacing it with an accounting course instead. So I'm hoping that by working my ass off in two MBA courses as a non-degree student, this will be sufficient evidence for the admissions people and show that I truly should be accepted into the program in the fall. It will not be pretty though, since I did horrendously in the one accounting class I took as an undergrad. Though my head was entirely somewhere else that semester, so I could have been taking Counting Toes for Dummies and still would have failed miserably. Anyway, I'm pretty excited to start school again. Sitting around every evening is starting to get to me, and I just can't be bothered to get to the gym lately.
I'm totally excited for the weekend and Dave's cousin's engagement party. For some reason I've been agonizing over what is considering the perfect "engagement party outfit" and finally decided to go with my original instinct and wear this awesome skirt I got from Banana last winter, which I've yet to wear. It's black satin and pleated, and as it's petite, it fits absolutely perfectly. I remember watching it all season and waiting for it to go on sale, and the day it did.... Anyway, as its a smidge dressy, I'm pairing it with the turtleneck below, which I picked up from Banana today.
I actually bought it in black, thinking that I'd just wear a sparkly broach and earrings to make it look a bit less plain, but I'm afraid the shades of black look a bit weird together, so I may return it and buy the cranberry colored one. And I'm wearing shiny black Steve Madden heels, also a purchase from last year.
Again, I really don't know why I'm agonizing over this, but perhaps its because I feel I need to look my best as I certainly won't be feeling my best. I'm truly excited for Dave's cousin, but I can't help thinking, as selfish as it sounds, I can not believe this girl he's engaged to will be joining their family before me. They've been dating barely a year and a half, and haven't gone through a quarter of the stuff that Dave and I have, and now she gets to get married?? Ugh, I can't even think about it anymore. It's just all getting to me a lot lately, especially as we approach the holidays.
Ick, hate to end this on such a sour note, but I'm afraid my post will get eaten up again! Will be back with a more upbeat entry later this week!
