Bought boatloads of books. Took nine or ten items off my Amazon wishlist, and bought lots of others I'd been interested in. Four books by Jasper Fforde, of whom I've been hearing for years (they didn't have The Eyre Affair, but I'll get that from Amazon). Upgraded several paperbacks to hardcover. I spent about three and a half hours there. The problem with the booksale is that it's just exhausting. I wanted to look at more, and maybe make another pass through the fiction section, but I just couldn't.

My only failure was a book I got for Catherine. It's "Tikki Tikki Tembo," which I've had on HER wishlist, because I loved it so, myself. I saw it, and grabbed it, and got it home only to discover that it was the Spanish version. Boo. At least it was only $2. I got a few others for her that were my old favorites, including a 1972 printing in absolutely mint condition of the Better Homes and Gardens Story Book. I may not let her have it, because it IS absolutely mint. No discoloration or anything - it looks as though it's been stored in a hermetically sealed chamber or something. I might be able to sell it for a lot more than the $1.50 it cost me.
