So, was anyone (other than the MSM) really salivating for a Huntsman candidacy? I mean - who was out there saying, "You know what the GOP Presidential field needs? Someone who worked for the Obama administration and refuses to take it on ( Read more... )

The field seems really buckshot, doesn't it? I think a lot of them realize Obama's in big trouble and they're hoping they can capitalize on it, which is the WRONG reason. I hope the RNC has better sense. This could either go the way of Jimmy Carter (taking advantage of a meltdown in the opposing party) or the way of Ronald Reagan (sticking to your principles and being the right person to stand in the gap and turn things around).

It's early yet. Don't give up hope.

Oh, I'm not without hope at all. I think Obama is eminently beatable, by any one of those people on that stage (or Huntsman or Perry)*. I just don't see where Huntsman brings anything to the race, and I'm finding it a little amusing that the MSM is going all orgasmic about his entry into it when the overwhelming reaction from the American populace at his announcement was "Meh" (as proven by the poll posted today at America's Newsroom: "How Interested are You in John Huntsman?" (Or something like that - the title goes away after you vote.) When I looked at it just now, the response was 80% "Not Interested" and only 6% "Interested.")

*Okay, maybe not Ron Paul.
