My Cleveland Indians are 20-8. 4 1/2 games up in the AL Central.
SERIOUSLY?
This is a team that lost 93 games last year, and now, suddenly, they've gone back in time 16 years to the team that won 100 games in the 144-game strike-shortened 1995. They're on a pace to match the...2001? Mariners at 116 wins. (I think 2001 was the year the Mariners won the 116 - didn't pay much attention, because that was the year my DBacks won the Series.)
I wasn't prepared for this. I can't watch them, because I haven't bought Extra Innings since 2007. But I need it now! I'm hoping for, at least, MLB.TV for Mother's Day. :-) I'm REALLY hoping for MLB.TV plus a Roku box so that I can watch it on my big TV rather than on my laptop.
As a fan of any Cleveland sport, I am a fatalist. The last time ANY Cleveland team won a national championship was 1964 when the Browns won (this was before the existence of the Super Bowl). Cleveland is, I think, the last city with a major sports franchise to win a championship. Eventually, they will find a way to screw it up. Because it's Cleveland. But I still bear "TRIBEFN" as my vanity license plate, and I will always, ALWAYS hope for just a little glimmer of hope for my favorite team.
