Blasted French.
THREE WEEKS before I am going to visit their country, take their train from Charles DeGaulle airport to Versailles, and back - and thence to Cherbourg to pick up the bloody Queen Mary 2...they go on strike because the government (for which most of them work - look live, Americans) is voting on changing the retirement age from 60 to 62.
F***ing slackers. If I can retire by 70, I'll consider myself lucky, and I have no interest in, or wish for, government assistance to that end. In fact, I'm going to have to hope for government to release its claim on my money in order to actually make something out of it instead of spending it on worthless programs.... Sorry. Runs deep.tra
If this strike doesn't end, Mom and I will be lucky to get to Cherbourg, much less Versailles.
