I don't follow Wimbledon. But the Twitter was all...well, atwitter with the news of the epic battle being playing out there for HOURS and HOURS and HOURS. Someone included a link to the Guardian UK's liveblogger's account, and it is HYSTERICAL. Even if you, like me, don't care for the tennis so much, this is well worth a read.
At 4:05, he posts this:
On and on they go. Soon they will sprout beards and their hair will grow down their backs, and their tennis whites will yellow and then rot off their bodies. And still they will stand out there on Court 18, belting aces and listening as the umpire calls the score. Finally, I suppose, one of them will die.
And the set went on for ANOTHER FIVE HOURS after that, with similar amusing commentary throughout. (And it's still not over - they called it on account of darkness, with the set tied a whopping 59-59.)
