Two commercials that bug me (one of which was the one I couldn't remember when I made my LAST commercial post):

The entire "Punch-Dub" series. I mean, REALLY? Either VW is trying to create a game where people punch other people just because they saw one of their cars, or they think their cars are special enough that people would create such a game on their own? That's one of the dumbest things I've ever heard. If anyone EVER punches me and announces a color, they're going DOWN.

The other one is the one that starts with "The 57th President of the United States," and goes back in time to "Present Day" and his parents meeting through the intrepid deployment of a cellphone. It's obviously for a cellphone company (but I don't remember which). A cellphone company whose Director of Advertising failed both Civics AND Math.

Our Republic is 234 years old, and yet we've had only 44 Presidents. They think that, somehow, we're going to go through 13 administrations and the next guy's parents are still going to be around to see him inaugurated? Assuming that each of the next 13 administrations is a single term (unlikely in the extreme), we're still looking at 54.5 years until the 57th is inaugurated. Yes, young enough that that guy's parents might still be around. But, given the length of the average Presidential administration (5.32 years), he'd be 69. It's unlikely that his parents would be quite as...young...as they're portrayed in the commercial.

I know it's a nitpick, but they would have done better not to forecast quite so far into the future.
