1) What was the turning point where you realized you weren't a kid anymore?
I'm not sure I have realized that, yet. It still amazes me that I'm an adult (and have, now, been an adult for a longer period of time than I was a kid) with adult responsibilities that I'm actually pulling off. It further amazes me that I have responsibility for a whole, entire little person and haven't wound up having her carted away by CPS. It used to amaze me that I managed to care for PETS on my own (and I still have dreams in which I forget for long periods of time that I have a number of pets of various kinds, which, in the meantime, die).
2) How has motherhood changed your perceptions, if at all.
I'm more likely to make sacrifices than I would have been before she came along, and I have rather a different view of "what's fun" than I used to. And, if it's possible, I'm more even more conservative now than I was - at least, I'm more vocal about it than I was, because I want to do my best to ensure that she has a chance to grow up with the same chances and freedoms as I had growing up.
3) Who is the person (non-family) you admire most and why?
Unsurprisingly, Ronald Reagan. I admired him for his optimism (justified, IMHO); his consistent adherence to his principles in the face of opposition not only from the media and his political opponents, but sometimes from people who were purportedly on his side; his refusal to compromise his beliefs for the sake of political expedience; and for his conservative, genuine American values - but I also admired his ability to get things done through sheer force of will. If we're talking living people, Sarah Palin for largely the same reasons, but also because she's still standing after some of the most vicious media attacks I've ever seen.
4) If I came to visit, what would you insist I do or see in Phoenix?
A game at the BOB, for sure (assuming baseball season, of course). A visit at Chez Winnie, definitely. I think you might enjoy the Desert Botanical Gardens, too.
5) You're getting ready for a Big Night Out. Describe your Killer Outfit.
I don't really have one. I don't even have an idea of one, because we don't really do "Big Nights Out." I mean, when I go to the opera with Mom, I usually wear a dress or dress pants with something sparkly. And I own some formal dresses but only have an opportunity to wear them, maybe, once a year. Of course, there ARE my $0.49 pants...
