Names of the Dead

You know Florida Representative Grayson (D-FL)? The one who's projecting that the Republican health care plan is that people who become ill die quickly (actually, that's the Dem plan, and it is a CLASSIC case of Freudian projection)? He's a nut. He has a new website, which begins thus:

Every year, more than 44,000 Americans die simply because they have no health insurance.

Names of the Dead

First, I have a question for Representative Grayson: How many Americans die each year who DO have health insurance? I'd venture that it's a much, much larger number. Heck, if we take the "accepted" figure of 47 million uninsured in America, that's 0.09% of uninsured people who die each year as a result of their lack of insurance. I'll take those odds. I'm considering giving up my insurance right now.

Second, prove it. Where did that statistic come from? That is something that is completely unmeasurable, because nobody can know whether the people who died "simply because they have no health insurance" would have lived if they HAD had it.

stupid people, health care reform
