Yesterday at lunch, I went to the Neiman-Marcus and Saks outlets (both thoughtfully provided in the same mall, nearly next to each other, about four miles away from the office), looking for the Louboutin shoes for Joe to buy for my birthday. While I didn't find them (they had some, but they were flats and, while they were certainly cute and I'd definitely wear them with jeans and shorts, weren't quite what I wanted for $155), I did see a pair of Armani trousers in my size at Needless Markup, marked down to $94, plus a 20% clearance discount, so about $75. Which, considering that at full retail, they ran $1250, is a smoking deal - but still. $75 is a lot for me to spend on a pair of pants. I didn't get them. But I kept thinking about them.
And last night, I realized that I had a $50 Visa gift card, and I could certainly justify $25 out of pocket, plus tax.
So I went back today and tried them on. They're a little snug - which is good, because I'm re-dedicating myself to my diet and wanting to look good in these is incentive* - and unhemmed (also good, because I can take them to a tailor and get them the proper length for my high heels from the get go). And, even better, there was an additional 20%-off-your-entire-purchase-even-clearance-items sale going on, so they were $65 out the door. (Or 95% off full retail price.) $15 out of pocket.
*Yeah, I know you're supposed to "dress your body the size it is now." They didn't have the pants for the size I am now at that price, so there.
