My heart is broken. I KNEW this would happen. When they lost Thursday night, there was no doubt in my mind that the Championship was lost.
TWO ace pitchers who failed to win a game.
TWO phenomenal relief pitchers who didn't get the job done (though, to be fair to Betancourt, his only failure was tonight).
The bad call that said Lofton was out when he clearly wasn't didn't matter. Joel Skinner screwing up and holding Lofton at third instead of sending him didn't matter, either.
And now we've got another whole year to wait before we have another shot.
I really thought this was their year.
Now I guess I have to root for the Rockies.
