SO.
I might get a real job from the Rubin Museum in ny (assistant curator if the guy's Visa ends up working out, and if not that, another assistant job), which means that if i do, I'll be withdrawing from the art institute of boston and moving to NY for long term instead of it being just a summer internship and attempting to transfer to NYU or Columbia for either the spring or fall '08 (columbia being the reach school out of the two). I really think my chances of getting into NYU are good chances, since I've been getting consistent A's and I have good references from Soprafina Gallery, AIB, and two professors from Harvard (one of them taking a job at NYU! the other professor being the one to refer me to the Rubin museum in the first place). I don't think I'll do art school again if I leave and just focus on Art History and Comparative Literature from a university (since from an art history perspective, i disagree with the way most art schools teach this particular subject and a university would honestly do it better).
These may very well be my last 1.5 weeks of being a bostonian! Which makes me sad, but excited!
I already have a summer place living in Williamsburgh and theres a possibility I could keep the apartment for the year since kathleen has a vacant room and I *don't* think she found anyone yet. or at least I hope she didn't because it's a pretty sweet location and two stops from manhattan and right infront of two trains.we'll see..... everything kind of rests on my interview on next Thursday. If I don't get the job, or any real job, i would be just as pleased doing just a summer thing and coming back to Boston, Anton, Theresa, Jeff, and AIB friends in the fall and completing all the classes that I have been looking forward to doing.
In the mean time I have a paper to begin and finish by monday and a painting to complete by wednesday.
!!!!!!!!!!!!
LIFE. GOD! ITS AMAZING!
