It's all about timing
Moved into the new place in December and things are great. The couches were delivered last week (even though they told me it would be about 5-6 weeks - not complaining though) and I LOVE it.
1) it’s great to have couches in the living room - something to sit on while watching TV and well, just something to sit on.
2) I got the couches I wanted - big and comfy. Something you can fall into and comfortably sleep on (I know - I’ve done it a few nights).
I had my review at work and it’s one of the best reviews I’ve ever received from this company - full of promises for growth and encouragement. Beautiful! A week later, it’s a different story. I don’t care who my boss sleeps with. It’s not my place. However, it is a problem when his current relationship with one of our senior staff starts to impede my work. This is one of the reasons where I think you should be careful if you are going to get involved with a co-worker. It’s one thing if you’re on the same level (awkward as it could be) but as the president of the company shagging one of the senior managers - I would think carefully on this one. Since one party is STILL married!! The thing is not his affair so much as the power she’s gained from sleeping with him or the power he’s given her through their relationship. Not only has she ‘climbed the corporate ladder’ but there’s really no where else to climb and damn her because she will NEVER leave here. It’s sad when you can’t recognize that EVERY ONE of your staff fears her (from the top down - along with the other directors) and not in a respectful way. So after being back at this company for 3 years, I’m once again sending resumes out along with prayers that something comes along soon.
Did I happen to mention that my first mortgage payment Is due this month? Fantastic no? It’s a good thing I was going to start that great savings bit at the beginning of the year and start skimming down on unnecessary spending.
There is a Peete’s coffee up the street from my house and I’m contemplating at least getting a job there on the weekends. My friends are too rooted in the south bay and it’s already a chore getting them to come visit me. The hopes of them miss me and visiting is dissipating REALLY quickly. LOL! I need to make some new friends on the west side and start a whole new group.
