How come staying at home on a Friday night to drink a bottle of merlot (yellowtail- oh baby!) and watch Memoirs of a Geisha is a better alternative (in my mom's eyes) to going to a party and hanging out with people I haven't seen in forever?

Remind me again why I still make the effort with her?
