The first time they met was an accident. Eeteuk was on his annual visit to mingle with the mortals of Earth.
As one of the Divine's most trusted angels, it was important that he dealt with any problems whenever they arose.
Eeteuk was prepared to solve every one of them.
But he didn't prepare for a problem that involved him.
Because when Eeteuk saw Sungmin, the angel-in-disguise was captivated.
The human was beautiful in Eeteuk's eyes. He was completely clad in pink when Eeteuk saw him at a daycare centre. Sungmin was in the sandpit, helping the children in their mission to build sandcastles.
His clothes were getting grubby, but he didn't care; Sungmin was having too much fun.
When one of the children threw a sandball at Sungmin, he heartily laughed and Eeteuk found out that the man's laugh was music to his ears.
When one of the children finished his sandcastle and was giggling excitedly at Sungmin, he smiled brightly and Eeteuk also found out that the man's smile shone more than any star in the Universe.
Eeteuk thought this man couldn't be more perfect.
But when Sungmin started to sing to the playful children, Eeteuk was proved wrong.
The man's voice was heavenly.
So Eeteuk allowed himself a few more minutes to listen to this mortal's angelic voice; the way he sung soothed Eeteuk and made him feel as if he were flying without his wings.
But his moment of bliss was interrupted when Sungmin called out to him, "are you looking for someone, sir?"
Eeteuk gasped at the sudden intrusion and without answering, he ran away.
Because if he had stayed, Eeteuk would have broken his realm's most important rule.
Thou shalt not love a mortal.

The second time they met was another accident. Sungmin had completely forgot about the strange man who was staring at him while he played in the sandpit.
Next thing he knew, a year had gone and he was still working at the daycare centre, which he loved.
After another eventful day at work, Sungmin got a call from one of his friends.
He asked Sungmin if he'd like to go partying with them tonight and Sungmin complied since he figured he needed company that didn't consist of only three-year-olds.
So Sungmin briskly walked back to his small apartment and got ready in an hour.
He deemed himself alright in front of the mirror before he left for the appointed club, only ten minutes away from his place.
As soon as Sungmin arrived, his friends were already waiting for him.
They all warmly greeted each other before they started to line-up in the queue.
When they entered, the club was already packed with heated bodies as people danced in time to the blaring music. The lights were flashing different colours and nearly blinded Sungmin since he had not been to a club for so long that the lively place was nearly foreign to him.
Noticing that his companions had left him, Sungmin decided to grab a drink before he went dancing himself.
Sungmin took his time sipping the beverage as he observed the people around him. His eyes then met another man's and he nearly choked from the predatory look he was given.
Not wanting to have anything to do with the guy, Sungmin turned his back towards the man and continued to drink the alcohol, albeit a bit faster than before.
The night passed quickly from then on when Sungmin got to the dance floor.
At first, he joined his friends before he started to pick up random partners for fun. But when he twisted around to see who he was dancing with next, he gasped.
It was the man who was eying him at the bar.
"Hey there babe, care to dance?"
And before Sungmin could escape into the crowd around him, the stranger had grabbed Sungmin's arm and pulled him back against his body.
He then started to grind into Sungmin, swaying his hips this way and that while the smaller man struggled against his grip.
"Quit fighting it, babe. You know you want me." Smirked Sungmin's captor as he started to suck and nip at Sungmin's neck.
"Let go of me, you jerk!" Ordered Sungmin as he kicked the man in the groin, causing him to groan in pain and allowing Sungmin to break free and escape.
Sungmin decided he didn't want to stay any longer and so left the club after he sent a short text message to his friends.
He only walked for about four minutes before he was dragged into a dark alley.
The man from the club was back.
"Thought you could run from me, babe?" No-one's gonna save you now." Mocked the person as he roughly pushed Sungmin against the brick wall, arms above his head.
Again, Sungmin struggled to escape but the man had put his entire weight on Sungmin's body so he couldn't move. He was too heavy for Sungmin to push off.
"Heh. I'm gonna enjoy this," said the man before he started to raid Sungmin's soft skin with licks and kisses.
When the man let one of his hands to wander down Sungmin's body, he tried to kick him again.
That earned Sungmin a slap.
"Please...stop..." Begged Sungmin when he felt the man loosening his belt. He was ignored as his belt was carelessly tossed away, his pants soon followed.
He was then turned so that he was face-to-face with the wall. And when the man hooked his fingers around the waistband of his briefs, Sungmin closed his eyes in fear for what he knew was about to happen to him.
Suddenly, his captor was roughly thrown onto the dirty ground just when he started to pull down Sungmin's undergarment. The man looked up after he wiped blood from his mouth with the back of his hand as he yelled at Sungmin's savior, "who the hell are you?"
The mysterious hero only glared at him before he started his relentless assault. It wasn't long before the man had completely stopped moving.
Sungmin watched all of it with wide eyes as he slid down the wall in a heap. He couldn't believe what was happening but was grateful someone had saved him.
When the tall stranger had stopped kicking the sprawled body on the ground, Sungmin asked him, "who are you? Why did you save me?"
However, he only received a dimpled smile before his savior ran down the alleyway and disappeared from sight.
Because if Eeteuk had stayed any longer, he would've broke the second rule.
Thou shalt not speak with mortals.

The next time they met was not an accident.
Another year had passed and Sungmin couldn't stop thinking about the handsome stranger who had saved him in the dark alley.
He had asked people if they knew this person but none of them gave Sungmin the answer he wanted.
He was disappointed to say the least since he never got to properly thank his hero.
Sungmin sighed for the hundredth time that day at work as he wondered where the man could be.
When he heard one of the kids calling him over, Sungmin rushed towards the sound and nearly squealed in joy.
There, standing in front of the counter and surrounded by children, was the man who saved him a year ago.
"Remember me?" Asked Eeteuk as he gave Sungmin another of his dimpled smiles.
"It's you," breathed Sungmin as he started to walk towards him, "the one who saved me. Thank you."
"It was my pleasure," replied Eeteuk, "I'm here to pick someone up."
"Oh! Who is it?" Sungmin couldn't stop his disappointment from showing as he realised the man was already taken.
"You, of course! I'm taking you out on a date." Declared the man with a confident smile on his handsome features.
"Huh? But I still have work to do!" Sungmin couldn't help but smile too.
"When do you finish?"
"In one hour."
"Want some company?"
"Love to." And the two walked back into the play area with the crowd of children following closely behind them.
Sungmin turned to his left and said, "by the way, I believed we haven't properly introduced ourselves. I'm Sungmin."
His hero grinned back before he finally told Sungmin his name.
"Eeteuk."
Since he realised that he'd rather be banished from his realm than to spend an eternity without the man he loved.
