Hello hello, long time no see!
I actually have a legit excuse for being away this time! So guess who's been a klutz and broke her laptop LED screen so violently, 75% of the screen can't be seen? It took a while to repair because it's not covered under warranty and ASUS quoted me S$600 to repair it. Yeah, crazy right? Had to research and ask around for a place that charges a much more decent rate because I am technology-challenged and don't know how to replace it myself. Also, I don't like browsing the net if I'm not on my own laptop. ;A;
Canmake has this really cool new batch of nail topping polishes that looks like dessert toppings when you apply it on your nails! So yummy-looking!
From left to right: Mixed Berry Seeds, Powdered Sugar, Dried Strawberry, Hawaiian Coconut, and Almond Crunch.
They're made from real fruit/nut bits too! How cool is that?!
I got their Powdered Sugar and Almond Crunch toppings to try since they have it stocked it at the Watson's near my place!
Here's my first attempt at making dessert-looking nails with it!
Gotta say Almond Crunch is slightly disappointing because I couldn't seem to pick up enough flakes with one swipe to get the texture I was hoping for. It does have this really nice mattifying effect though. Powdered Sugar works fantastically true to their samples as you can see!
Kinda miffed at how dark my brown polish turned out (it looks more like dark chocolate than milk) so I went and got Canmake's Colorful Nails no.54(Chocolate Syrup) along with the Mixed Berry Seeds topping to try on a new set with.
It doesn't show very well in my photos but trust me when I say that the brown polish really does looks like chocolate. Especially after texturizing with the topping coats!
I wore it out the other day and got tons of compliments for them hee♥

Personally, I feel it's a kind of a waste to wear nails with detailed designs to places with dim lighting. What I prefer is a simple design in solid, bold colours or something shiny and glittery. This way, it'll be eye-catching even in the dark! If you're shy with mingling at parties (like I am sometimes), nails like these can get people to approach you first haha. Everyone loves an easy conversation starter right? ;)
I don't really buy nail magazines much anymore but they had Tsubasa on the cover of this issue so I HAD to get it. Her choice in nail designs inspires me a lot!

This could be an interesting idea to try out! Which one to pick though? I'm currently alternating between three scents: Gucci's Envy, Elizabeth Arden's Green Tea Lotus and Anna Sui's Dolly Girl on the Beach. :)a

Confession: I haven't been very invested in fandom lately.
And then I started thinking what difference does it make since I have to be one of the most antisocial shippers out there ever. I can't fangirl very well, I never join discussions and rarely even contribute anything at all. I honestly feel perfectly at home hiding in my little corner here too except LJ is all sorts of wtfkery at the moment. Tumblr actually sounds like a very attractive option right now because it gives you a sense of participation even if you don't speak to others much. BUT idk, I'm kind of scared of how fast things move on there and I don't really know how privacy options work too-- Can I just use an empty blog to follow people or is this awkward tumblr etiquette? I AM CLEARLY OVERTHINKING THINGS HERE ARGHH JUST SUCK IT UP, SELF.
