a peeve...
so, in some of my wanderings in the internetz, i came across a webpage for a person who said they were an "aspiring author". cool, i think. i always want to support writers, you know?
so i go to the site, and there are lnks to some stories. aside from them not really being my genre of interest, there were multiple typos in the story summaries.
mainly the its/it's thing. also spelling things wrong... responsable instead of responsible.
that type of stuff BOTHERS THE HELL OUT OF ME, and on top of it, this person is saying they want to be an author.
so i didn't bother reading any stories. part of it was the whole genre thing, but the other was the basic spelling mistakes.
i do a lot of writing for a living. not fiction, more like technical writing. it has to be right. and i have always been peeved by those type of typos.
i feel a bit like a bitch, but still. if this is what you want to do, you have to actually DO it.
