how are the leeeeeezards, you may ask?

Mar 05, 2012 12:20

they're doing very well!

they had some noms yesterday, and were very happy about that.

This is Cotton, the big mac daddy:

  "oooo what's that?"

"Get my good side"

"i love comin out for playtime!"

this is Chick, Cotton's girlfriend and the mama of things:

this was the only pic i got of her, and it was right after she hoovered a hornworm. sometimes, she just wants to be left alone.  unlike Cotton.  he's an attention whore.

and here's Bug! she's the one i hatched last year (like an evil plan).

she just had her nom, and was licking her chops. she was happy in her log, so this is the only pic i got of her.

and here's my girl Ringo, hiding in her wet box:

she says "why hello there."

Ringo had MBD (metabolic bone disease) but it was caught early enough that her only deformity is her front legs.  she kind of walks on her wrists.  and you can see, she's missing parts of all her front toes due to bad sheds and inexperienced ownership.  but look at that little face!

and here comes Trigger:

Trigger lives with Nutsy, and i refer to the par as "the jerks".  they bullied Ringo a while ago, and one of them chomped her tail.  she only lost a little bit, and it grew back very well, but i was mad at them.  they also are very not loving.  they are the babies of Cotton and Chick (as is Bug).

Trigger has also had some past toe issues.  but he has very pretty yellows, and expressive eyes.

and this is Nutsy, Trigger's girlfriend.  She has had toe issues as well, but not as bad. she just had a hornworm, and says "thank you!"

this is before i fed Nutsy, who was hiding out in the wet box:

i like taking those types of shots.

and lo and behold! Nutsy laid eggs!

this is actually the second clutch from these two this season.  the first one, i didn't find and they dried out.
these look good though.

Cotton and Chick have had three clutches, but two dried out before i got to them, and the third didn't last long.
so those are my scaly kids. two breeding pairs, and the bachelorette pad.
let's see if we get babies again this year. :)

critters, pics
