goaround

We saw whales bubble net feeding yesterday! Its such an amazing thing. A group of whales (only seen in SE Alaska probably the same whales during their migratory route) get in a circle and blow bubbles. The bubbles create what appears to be a wall that encloses herring. And THEN all at one time they swoop in and collect all the herring in their mouths. What we see from above water is first a circle of bubbles and then a circle of large whales mouths wide open, thrusting into the air. And is this innate? something this one group just came up with? why a circle? why is it so rare to see if its so effective? People can spend five years in Alaska and not see it. Not to mention Humback Whales don't usually travel in large groups.

My life just keeps connecting without even trying sometimes. Today I am blown away about how things just keep falling into place. I'm desperately looking forward to solitude in the midst of nature and I only hope I obtain it and I find that ground that my next step needs to land on.
