He was a weatherman's warning

First, I want to be a librarian (YouTube) ... mwahaha!! XD

Today's poem is actually a song I've recently fallen in love with, but songs are just poetry set to music, so~~

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

You've been breaking the ice in the morning
You're scared what the references say
He was a weatherman's warning
And it's time for the laundry today

'Cause he had a girl in his attic
Who was scrubbing her face with the moon
She was burning his bed with her laughter
And smoking you out of the room

Colours go round in a circle
Washing away what you came for
Fading the t-shirt they said would stay green
Maybe you're only Jane Eyre in jeans

Taking the subway of bad dreams
Dialing a friend to say "hi"
Love lost can seem like a wasteland
And you feel like an overcast sky

Telling a tale in the city
Where you can't find the parking that's free
You swallowed the storybook ending
In a styrofoam cup full of tea

Colours go round in a circle
Washing away what you came for
Riding the el in a fluorescent sea
Maybe you're only Jane Eyre in jeans

Lovers go round in a circle
Washing away what they came for
Dust off the book that you read in your teens
Maybe you're only Jane Eyre in jeans

I love Jane Eyre, so I was quite intrigued by this spin on the story. I had a hard time choosing one line for the entry title today, because all of the lines are so interesting. It's a pretty song. :)
