I got my first present from a patron today! :D
One of my book club girls, Remi, gave me a card and a cute little keychain. The card says "Thank you for all the effert you put in it. And thank you for hanging out with us."
It made me SO happy! It was so cute and sweet and yay! :)
Kathleen and Shastl both have little notes from kids in their areas, and I was always sad because I hadn't got any yet. But now I have. I feel more official now. XD

Yeah, yeah, I'm getting really bad about updating. But I've been so busy at work that I'm too uninspired to do much besides curl up with a book and/or watch the occasional TV show when I get home. Sorry.
Let's see...
Oh, so I have a book club now, which I believe I mentioned in my last post. We meet on Fridays after the girls get out of school. There's four of them and they're all in third grade. They're very energetic, but they love the books and the book club (and me! ^_^). I'm having lots of fun with this!
This week was the week of the Planned Parenthood Booksale here in SB, which is this huge used book sale with all kinds of random and cool books that people have donated and most of which are $1-2. Happiness! I got a few random old kids' books and some Shakespeare (they had precisely the two plays I was looking for, in the same edition as the rest of my set, it was so cool!). w00t. And then today I went to the Book Den (which is California's oldest used-book store, right here in SB) with the intention of getting one book, but I ended up walking out with five. ^^; I love how a book that's practically new is half-price just because it's used. [/happy book geek ramblings]
So yeah. Laura is still alive and still loves her job. *nodnod* Perhaps there will be further updates later this weekend. We shall see.
Ciao!
p.s.: It's Banned Books Week (Sept. 23-30)! So please celebrate your freedom to read what YOU want and read a banned book at some point in the near future. There's a really interesting
list of banned books on Wikipedia that gives the reasons some of the books were banned. Some of the "reasons" are just so unbelievable... *sigh* Read what you want. And don't read what you want. But celebrate your right to make that decision for yourself.
