the aim of waking is to dream

Apr 22, 2006 19:59

I chatted the morning away with my best friend Brittany. I can talk to her for hours and it'll only feel like it's been a few minutes. We talked about books (I love book geek chats!) and school (she's at library school in Boston) and stories and boys and England and her grandfather (the one I was researching at the library last month) and Fruits Basket and probably a few other random things. Talking with her totally made my day. :) We don't get to talk enough since we're on opposite sides of the country. Email's cool and all, but it's not the same as talking. And I can't wait to see her again in person this summer.

Then this afternoon I went travel shopping and got a hot new suitcase. ... We're leaving on Friday!!! :D

Poem! -->

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

in time of daffodils (who know
the goal of living is to grow)
forgetting why, remember how

in time of lilacs who proclaim
the aim of waking is to dream,
remember so (forgetting seem)

in time of roses (who amaze
our now and here with paradise)
forgetting if, remember yes

in time of all sweet things beyond
whatever mind may comprehend,
remember seek (forgetting find)

and in a mystery to be
(when time from time shall set us free)
forgetting me, remember me

~ "in time of daffodils" by E.E. Cummings
