Picture books to make you smile =)

Mo Willems is a brilliant picture book author/illustrator. So far I have read three of his books: Time to Pee!, Time to Say "Please"!, and Leonardo the Terrible Monster. Go to your favorite library or bookstore and read them. They will make you smile. *nodnod* =)

Also, you must read And Tango Makes Three. It's so cute! It's about the two penguin daddies at the Central Park Zoo. It's got really nice illustrations, and it's such a cute story. =) Of course, I went to Amazon to see the bad reviews I knew would be there. There was only one, but wow, allow me to quote it:

This thinly disguised picture book is a thinly veiled attempt to indoctrinate young children in the gay agenda.
Unfortunately unlike previous attempts at making the gay lifestyle attractive to pre-school and early elementary school children (King and King, My Daddy's Roommate)I have to admit that the authors and illustrators have created an attractive picture book about two male penguins who hatch an egg.
While most young children can accept this story on face value, it is perfectly obvious to any adult and many children that the purpose of this book is to stress tolerance of alternative lifestyles.

Now, let me just repeat that last line for you: "... the purpose of this book is to stress tolerance of alternative lifestyles." That's a bad thing? And this guy says he's a children's librarian. I feel so sorry for the children of South Carolina and other like-minded areas. I can perfectly understand if you don't believe homosexuality is "right", but I just cannot understand why anyone would think that makes it okay to be intolerant of the people who don't have a problem with those "alternative lifestyles". Grrr.
