We are having our first heat wave of the summer here (ugh), so hot tea is less appealing in the afternoon. But it's still cool enough this morning (with my fan going!) that I am enjoying a nice cup of hot English Breakfast tea. (This tea comes in delightfully dorky tins; English Breakfast is in the middle of that photo.)
For my birthday last year, my mum got me a subscription to Teatime Magazine and it is a delight! It's published every other month and features ideas for themed tea parties (with scrumptious treats & suggested tea pairings), profiles of teashop/tearoom owners, profiles of tea producers (like Harney & Sons, etc.), and all kinds of other bits and bobs. Highly recommended for any tea lovers! :D
FANDOM TEAS!! I haven't actually tried any yet, but some of them sound delicious and look at the ADORABLE labels Cara created for them!! I will totally be ordering some soon, but I am having a hard time deciding WHICH since I cannot afford them ALL (nor do I have enough room in my tea cupboard). Definitely the Reichenbach Recovery, though, because yes, still in recovery from that. ;_;
I drink hot tea even when it's 110 degrees outside. At the moment, my favorite blend is Tea Palace's Notting Hill. It's worth the international postage!
Another good choice for afternoon tea is Mariage Frere's French Breakfast, which I order throught the Cultured Cup. (The Cultured Cup used to have a lovely little store in Dallas, but alas, they closed shop and are now only selling online.)
I can do hot tea in hot weather if it's dry heat; it's just the humidity that kills my thirst for anything but water. I hate humidity.
Those teas look lovely! And I am always glad to find good places to buy online as Philadelphia is sadly lacking in decent teashops (at least that I can get to via public transportation).
