Academic geekery
One of our new volunteers at work told us about [Academia.edu], which is like LinkedIn but for academic nerds! I am in love.
You can list your research interests and follow other people who have similar research interests and post papers and talks and CVs and such. Their tagline is "follow research" so it's really more about the research than the people. It is so cool! But it is still a baby network, so there aren't that many people on it. And thus I implore the academic geeks on my flist to join up!
I am [here] if anyone wants to sign up and follow me. :)
(I am itching to work on some possible publications, so there might even be stuff to actually follow on my profile someday. I just have to find the extra time and energy...)
