hallo and stuff!
Most importantly: Hallo, flist! ♥ Miss you all. I've been rushing through for poetry posts, but I only have time for quick glances at the flist. I am going CRAZY for pretty much all of April, apparently. I have hopes that May will be at least slightly less so (but no less awesome!) because I really would like a chance to catch my breath at some point.
So, last weekend I coordinated a [podfic workshop] at
camelot_fleet, which was quite well attended! Yay potential new readers! :) And although I feel bad about not actually hanging out at the workshop as much as I should have, I still feel quite accomplished for having put it together and posted it whilst on the road (in a train station, actually, returning from my third apartment-hunting trip) through sheer determination not to move the date which had been carefully plotted to coincide with the launch of
amplificathon.
So, hey, it is also
amplificathon time, which means LOTS of archiving to do. I love archiving, though. Especially when people tell me I'm like a fairy godmother, giving unsuspecting people permanent links for their podfic. Hee! :) (Or when I discover really super-awesome things, like this [Merlin filk], omg, it's a beautiful song whether or not you watch the show, check it out!!) Meanwhile, behind the scenes, we audiofic archivists are having enlightening discussions about the pros and cons of the roboarchivist apocalypse-because, yes, we are that awesome. And hopefully I'll have a wee bit of time to do some podfics of my own in May.
Happily, the aforementioned third apartment-hunting trip has actually resulted in an apartment! \o/ It is small, but bright and cheery and in a nice neighbourhood. And, crucially, there is a delightful non-Starbucks café with a decent selection of tea just a few blocks away. And darling propinquitine just bought me a teaset for a house-warming gift so I can brew proper tea for guests at home, too. Yay! Also, I will get to buy furniture so I can offer visitors a place to sit and stuff, exciting!
So I am moving on the 15th. Two more days of work at D.O., then a weekend or so of packing FRENZY, and then my moving crew arrives on Monday night. My moving crew consists of my dad, stepmom, and littlest sis. My dad was already planning to visit me (and his dad, who also lives near D.C.) this spring, so he offered to coordinate his visit with my big move, and then my stepmom and littlest sis also decided to tag along. So yay for free movers!
And then I start my new job on the 19th! eeee!!! :D
