In this digital information age, more and more people are saying, "fff, we don't need librarians. Anyone can find stuff on Google." But what we do cannot be reduced to Google. We go to school for this (at least five years, for bachelor's + master's; longer if you're not doing your degree full time). We strive to make knowledge accessible (via classification systems so you can find things and reference interactions to help you navigate and articulate your needs), to keep knowledge free (by fighting censorship), and to inspire a love of reading (because we are book geeks and we're happy to share). Librarians can change your world. Everyone should have a library and a librarian they can go to.
