Happy 4th!

It has clearly been too long since I've been to [Cakelove] because I did not know they have Obama cupcakes!

Called "The 44th," they have salted caramel drizzled over vanilla buttercream frosting on a vanilla cupcake. Quite delicious, especially with my own addition of fresh raspberries, but still not as delicious as the strawberry cupcakes (which are just pure cupcake bliss).

The cupcake-eating and a foray into town to see [UP] (Pixar♥) were my Independence Day celebrations amid a day of homeworking. Accompanied by tea. Which I found amusing, given the whole Boston Tea Party and all that. ;)

But as Neil Gaiman [ put it]: "We Made The Colonies Independent and Let Them Spell Colour, Axe and Aluminium with Missing Letters Day."

I do miss those letters. (Point of information: [Mr. Dewey], of Dewey Decimal Classification fame, was a huge supporter of simplified American English. He even simplified his own name from Melville to Melvil and dropped his extraneous two middle names.)

Also, I watched the fireworks from my bedroom window. They were tiny and faraway, but that is still awesome, no? Room with a view ftw! :)

Happy Independence Day, my American flisters!
