How to have a fun night out without spending any money

Jun 13, 2009 23:10

I spent alllllll afternoon in the library, so when I finally made it back to the flat, I didn't really want to stay cooped up all evening, too. But I don't really have any money, so what's a girl to do?

Me being the book geek I am, I went out to Borders. It's a nice walk over there, especially since it was evening so it was cooler. I found a place to settle down (in a corner of the travel section, which was still kind of high traffic, but less so than other areas) and read a manga of fluffy boy romance (with stars!), after which I went over to the café. I ordered a scone and a small chai, and the barista inexplicably thought I was awesome, so she gave me two scones and a medium chai without charging me more. And I paid for it with the gift card I got from my credit card points, so I still didn't spend anything. \o/

And then when I got back to the flat again, Flatmate had baked me Lava (gooey chocolate) cakes, and they were still warm! The cakes are by way of an apology for freaking me out because he's been late with the rent a few times. So, not awesome on the rent, but he baked me cakes, aww!
