I have been trying to find a good overview of the role of Censors in Ancient Rome. After an hour, my options are 1) an 800-page epic history that I really don't have time to read, or, 2) a Wikipedia article. :/

In other news, I love my Communities of Practice professor. He is not perfect, but he is very enthusiastic and encouraging, which I think are excellent traits in a teacher. He's especially great for talking things over one-on-one. Whenever I talk to him about my Fanlore study, I leave feeling much more confident. Perhaps I should bother him more often....

We got out of class early today so we could hang out at the iSchool's research day for a bit, and it was actually pretty interesting. My favourite poster was on Libraries as Sacred Places. :) They did a study with about 50 students from 3 universities, from different majors and degree programs so they got a wide variety of ages, and the general consensus was that libraries built in traditional ways generate more positive feelings than libraries built in a more modern style. (So, [ Library Smut ] is full of win.) The subjects of the study do value computers, but they prefer their libraries not to look too techy. I approve of this study! ♥
