Subject: Giant is trying to turn us into Trekkies
Did you see the latest tech at Giant? They're giving everyone handheld scanning devices to use for shopping. This won't be pretty. Mark my words, NO GOOD WILL COME OF THIS. Yuppies and hand scanners DO NOT MIX. See below.

See? Flatmate of Awesome. :D
Since it's a regional thing, Giant is a, well, giant supermarket chain on the East Coast of the U.S. (I'm not sure how far their spread is, but they're not on the West Coast. At least, not under the name Giant. While at Bryn Mawr I discovered that Acme is equivalent to Albertson's because they have the same radio ads. Also, Dreyers ice cream and Oroweat bread are sold under different names on the East Coast, too. Because, you know, pretty much everything these days is owned by the same huge conglomerates, however much they try to hide it with different names.)

And of the small pleasures today, it is one of those days where my room refuses to warm up in spite of heaters and sweaters, and therefore my comfy red socks are extra toe-wriggly warm and my big mug of chocolate chai is extra delicious. Also, I got my first Christmas card today from my folks, and it is an adorable old-style Peanuts card. :)
