eee, I am so twirly-happy right now! :D
I walked to the grocery store through the freezing cold and got some stuff for making tasty things later (ooh,
lavvyan, they had blackberries on sale \o/ ), and then at the checkout stand they had a bunch of stockings, which set me giggling. See, they reminded me of when my mum and I went out to buy new stockings for our family two years ago and we inexplicably burst into fits of laughter. :D
And then when I was walking back - snow! Just teeny little flakes that don't look like to stick, but still snow! This is my sixth winter on the East Coast and snow still makes me go :D and want to twirl and hug someone. I couldn't twirl due to the grocery bags, and there wasn't anyone to hug, but it is still happy-making. *randomly hugs you all!* ♥
*twirls around the room* :D
.eta (8:27pm): And the happiness continued! I went downtown to return a bunch of library books from my children's lit term project, and as I was walking from the library to Teaism, I came across the wee downtown holiday market, which only just started yesterday. They have live local musicians and there was an a cappella group from American University who were quite good, so I bought their holiday CD. I love a cappella! And then of course there are also retail stands with local artists and craftspeople and food. So I wandered around for a bit before going for a reading session at Teaism, and then I wandered through the market again on my way back to the Metro and paused to listen to another musician. And it was flurrying all afternoon! :D And some of it had stuck to the ground when I got back to Silver Spring, so I stomped on a few tiny piles and said "crunch!" gleefully aloud, and scurried back to the apartment because it's still cold, and Flatmate put up a real wreath on the door that smells heavenly and a cinnamon wreath inside that smells delicious, and I twirled about some more while making tea, so now I have lychee tea to warm myself up, and I am still full to bursting with happy! ♥
