As promised, here's the linkage for
lavvyan's birthday podfic:

(Almost) Rapunzel by

And then, omg, I got the nicest comment ever on my Merlin podfic of [
Whims ] and it has totally made my day.
Seriously, it made me simultaneously tear up and smile so big.
From
oofoetusoo (in France):
So, I don't even speak english that well therefore I never EVER leave any comment.
But this...
This was absolutely gorgeous. Can something you are listening to be gorgeous ? I don't even know, but I guess you catch the feeling.
This was my very first podfic, and certainly not the last, thanks to you :)
It made me smile, it made me cry. In a train. Full of people =D.
I'm not sure if I'm over sensitive or if you're already a podfic goddess, in any case, it really sounded like your voice was made for the story.
Pardon my english but I felt like I had to thank you for this, language barrier be damned !
You guys, this is the most important thing in the world to me as a librarian: connecting people with stories and information, regardless of cultural (including linguistic) barriers. That is literally my raison d'etre as a librarian. The moment it all fell into place for me was when I gave a Korean woman who barely spoke a dozen words of English the only bilingual English-Korean book in the library so that she could share it with her grandson and she was so happy. And I said, "yes, I want to do this with my life!" I am writing about that moment for my Germany application because that is also part of the mission of the IJB/IYL and I have never wanted to do anything more in my life.
But the fact that I can do that through podfic, too- I just don't even have words for how absolutely happy this makes me. *flappy hands*
I love fandom. ♥
