I left my wings in Santa Barbara...

HAPPY HALLOWE'EN!

I guess. =/

I don't have a costume this year (having left my wings [of both the faerie and bat persuasions] back home). So I wore black and orange, and my black socks with jack'o'lanterns on them.

We had a Hallowe'en party at work! No one wore costumes 'cause it's a nice-dress workplace, and hardly anyone else wore anything Hallowe'eny at all. I was the only one in black and orange, although there was a guy with an orange tie, and a woman with a jack'o'lantern pin. But there was candy and super-rich double-chocolate cupcakes. :)

*wonders if parents let their kids trick-or-treat in this neighbourhood or if they just take them all to the mall* It is kind of sketchy around D.C., so if it were my kids, I'd take them to a mall. Though if I had kids, I wouldn't be living in a sketchy area. And hopefully I won't be living in a sketchy area next year (or at least somewhere less sketchy).

Anyway.

My back still hurts and it is making me excessively cranky and depressed. Blah. But tomorrow I will finally have time to go to the grocery store so I can get myself some heat wraps for my back and wear one to class tomorrow. I was just reflecting on the Metro on my way home about tomorrow and wondering if I'll still be able to move and such. And it occurred to me with a wide-eyed gasp of terror that my Thursday class is in the room with the most uncomfortable desks ever. It's extremely uncomfortable when my back isn't hurting, so I'm sure it'll be loads of fun. However, I have to go to class because my criteria for ditching are: 1) I'm contagious, and/or 2) I cannot move. I used to ditch undergrad classes for mental health days occasionally, but with grad school I can't afford that luxury since the classes only meet once a week.

At least we are doing more space stuff in KidsTeam tomorrow. :) (Although I'm not sure how much will get accomplished with the kids on a sugar-high. Oh dear, they're rather a handful when it's not Hallowe'en. Tomorrow will be quite the challenge... *cringe*)

Oh look! It's time for more Advil!
