Wow. What a weekend!

Gov. Winthrope came down Friday afternoon. I was late meeting her due to a hold up at Wal-mart (plus there was a train). Whatever the case when I finally bothered to show up I did present her with flowers, which she seemed to like. We eventually met up with our friends, Sorry and Swinn-Diesel. I had a good time. Pizza, french-onion dip with Golden Flake chips (my appologies to Gov. Winthrope), and mellow yellow - though Gov. Winthrope had water (she's on a "No Ketchup/Soft Drink" diet).
Afterwards we went to Wendy's and each of the party got a frosty. Gov. Winthrope and I had trouble b/c our cashier thought I ordered "two small fries" instead of "two small frosties." I suppose it was an honest mistake, but she had even greater trouble with the guy in front of us. They kept trying to give him a salad when all he wanted was a black forrest ham sandwich. Poor fella. Regardless, after the frosty consumption we went back to Swinn-Diesel's place. Sorry and I played chess (yes, I won) and then watched "Wedding Crashers." It was a very funny movie. I eventually got on the love seat with the Gov. She was already enjoying being inside of a lion. I had to be on the outside of the lion, but it was still comfortable- and nice to be next to her.

that night, and saturday... well, let's just say 9, and leave it at that. :D

I do like the weekends Gov. Winthrope comes to Tuscaloosa!! mmmm!

The Gov. and I had some good conversations about kids, turtles, turtles, love, marriage, all sorts of stuff. :) I'm really looking forward to Christmas now!! ;-)

We had pizza for lunch, we had a lot of pizza actually, and Pita Pit for dinner. We then got coffee drinks from The Bad Ass and walked around the western fringe of campus. Gov. Winthrope and I then went back to my room, said our farewell's and parted ways... almost. She actually dropped me off near the lab where i spent from 9:30 - 2:30 working on GPS data for Eurycea. I did take a break to talk to Gov. Wintrhope for a little over half an hour once she got home and settled.

Now I'm going to bed. It's late. At least i don't have sunday school to teach in the morning.

Between* the excitement of getting to see Gov. Winthrope and thinking of all the fun we had this weekend and the 24 oz of coffee it might take me awhile to fall asleep.

*should say "Amongst" instead of "Between." (edited 6/4/06 9:24 am)
