New "Fun Thing" behind the cut....
Today was a "play day" in the studio. Which basically means that I do not *have* to *work*...I get to play and make huge messes. No thinking about sales, No being anal about technique, no getting all pissy over stupid stuff...
So, I decided to give 'reverse carving' a try...
The small square is a piece of acrylic about a half an inch wide, maybe two inches tall, by a quarter of an inch thick...so it's tiny.
It's carved from the back side, so the front is smooth and pretty.
I added some blue paint to the front...just to see what it would look like ( I do not like it, lol) and then attached it to a small piece of canvas (which I'm not to thrilled with either, lol) The blobs you see above and below the flower are the "stickin' stuff" which was still wet when I shot that pic.
I love doing this, even though it's one of those "one shot" type of projects. If you make a mistake while reverse carving it shows....Big time!
I also love how the light hits this, and pops the 3-d aspects of it.
Here is another shot, I know both pics are a bit snarky...but just wanted to document it (before I over did it and screwed it all up, lol!)
Anyways, I'm going to have to play with this a lot more...I had to stop because
I burnt the shit out of one of my fingers. :-/
Hope you all have a great weekend!
