So, ebay rolled out their new changes for 2008.

I think it's safe to say that most sellers, were expecting a fee increase.
After all it's the ebay way.
Ok, no biggie...it will just take some adjusting on the sellers end, and of course (like every other time) the increase will be passed on to the buyers.
The big looming CF, is this little ditty.
Buyers will only be able to receive positive Feedback.

I've had well over 600+ transactions on ebay, with a 100% feedback rating.
Most of my buyers were pleasant to deal with, although there were a few stinkers here and there, and I took appropriate actions, both on and off ebay.
I've never been one to worry about retaliatory negative feedback.
If you deserved it, I gave it.
If the buyer felt they didn't deserve it, well, they could respond to it, on their own feedback profile.
Fair enough.
I always thought that was a good system, as it allowed other people conducting transactions, to view the reasons and responses to feedback, and judge for themselves on weather or not they would conduct business with the seller/buyer.
With this "new system" that will all change. Ebay is basically going to impose a one sided-gag rule on their sellers.
I think it will promote black listing, of buyers.
I also think that this new system will be used by sellers, as a way to thin out their competition.
Ebay has this 'new' thing about bringing the buyers 'back' to ebay.
Ebay does not understand, that the buyers come to ebay....to buy from the sellers.

If the sellers hands are being tied, while imposing fee increases, and with 'sell through ratios' being abominable. Most sellers will take their wares and leave.
No sellers will mean that there will be....(wait for it)
No buyers.
No sellers+No buyers=No ebay.
(um...duh!)
Ebay will lose it's hold on the online auction world.
Probably, sooner rather then later.
There's lots of talk circulating around doing a boycott.
I'm waiting to see if it will actually happen.
I'm glad I eased back on ebay listings a while ago, and ventured out to other venues.
