A late bloomer will do.
I never got my "do over", but I did get a late bloomer.
We only have a few of these purple ones, they are my fav!
I was very happy to see the plant, come up with 2 late bloomers.

Our house came with about 10,000 day lily plants. Of which we don't know squat about. Ha.
This was our first spring here, and we got to live in day lily heaven for a few weeks.
I spent those few weeks running around my yard taking close to 100 pics a day.
Today I only took about 15, of this one flower. ;-)
