Looks like the green's weren't successful in the lower house, with the exception of Melbourne, which is too close to call (at one point Pike was ahead on 50.2%, then a little later she's behind on 49.6%).
However, as usual, the focus of the coverage has been on the lower house and on who forms government, rather than the upper house. If I've counted correctly, the legislative council results are:
- 19 labor
- 14 liberal
- 4 green
- 2 national
- 1 people power
I.e. the greens hold the balance of power there.
Anyhow, time to go to bed ...
