01) My opinion: Love at first sight. Ludwig is disciplined (to a fault) and tries to get everything right. Better yet: perfect. He's got a stick up his ass the size of a mammoth tree. He's kind, but doesn't know how to show it. PDAs aren't his style, they embarrass him, especially because he knows he isn't any good at them. Hell, he can hardly express his emotions in private! Everyone has very high expectations of him, most of all himself. His striving for perfection is meant well, but mostly he's getting on everyone's nerves. Ú__Ùx However, the road to hell being paved with good intentions, Ludwig needs smoeone to tell him no ones in a while. He's too stuck up to let go of control all too willingly, but he really does need it. He also needs someone to love him, but would never ask for it.

02) Plot relevance: One could argue that Hetalia hardly has a plot, but as far as it does I'd say Ludwig is one of the main characters and quite important indeed. Historically... well, technically Germany as a country is still pretty young. Back when England and France had something like a national consciousness, the land that would become Germany consisted of a lot of small kingdoms/principalities, most of which didn't even get along. ^^;; Oh well, then along came two world wars and I think we all agree Germany played a vital role in these... erm. Yeah.

03) Can I relate to him? I don't believe I'm much like him (though I do love to play him), but for some reason I feel like I get him, even before I spent a lot of time thinking about him. I feel for him when he suffers and I'm a little angry when other nations pick on him. ^^;; I never experienced any hate directed at him from fandom side... but that might just be me. *laughs*

04) Hetalia Fandom: The fandom is full of made of awesome people that make this mediocre show so great! Seriously, Hetalia on its own wouldn't hold my interest this long, even when you throw history into the mix. But the people I've met and the friends I've made - they're what makes it all worth while. Plus: great fanart, cool fanfics, cosplay and LARP - what more could I want?

05) Ship, ship, ship~ Most of my favorite pairings from Hetalia involve Ludwig, I think. XD The first pairing I wanted to see fanwork of was Rome/Germany (yes, really!), then I couldn't help but like Germany/Italy, not to mention the beauty that is America/Germany and of course Russia/Germany. ♥ I could go on.

06) Change him? Nothing really. He has his faults, but I like those as well, at least as much as his better traits. I can't complain about the screen time he gets either, and if there's one thing I'd change, it's the show itself, and all of the characters as a direct result (a serious Hetalia would make my life complete).

07) Meet Ludwig IRL: Oh yes please~ XD I dunno how or what or why, but I wouldn't mind meeting him. I'd take his dogs out for him when he's too busy working, I'd help him peel potatoes for dinner or make snide remarks about Austria coming to eat our cake again. ^^x

08) All time favorite? I'm pretty sure I'm gonna have to answer this question with YES, in capital letters. I have never loved a character like I do Ludwig, have never felt so close to one (but that might be the LARP thing).

09) Hype or warning? I'm prone to fangirling where Ludwig is concerned. XD But I'd try and let people make up their own minds, and I don't mind if they don't share my opinion. =)

10) Is this character popular with the fanbase? I'm gonna go ahead and say yes. Not as much as his big brother (XD), but I see a lot of cosplays of him (I'm secretly criticizing almost all of them, lol) and there's quite a few fanarts as well. Fanfiction is a bit lacking, but I do admit that his main pairing, Germany/Italy, isn't exactly the most fascinating relationship (great for fluff though, if that's how you role).
