Seriously not knowing the answer myself, I have asked - different people on several occasions - what they think that "love" is.
The answers all boil down to:
It's love when you think about that person a lot, when you want to be with them, when you think about their opinions and whether or not they might like something, when you want to be close to them.
But that's friendship.
Maybe the answer is in the "you want to be close to them", clarifying that love means you want to be close to them intimately.
But that's lust.
And combining the two doesn't get me love, does it?
Believe me, to someone who's never even had so much as a crush, much less been in love with someone, the concept is difficult bordering alien. I can write about it. I can imagine and make up a lot of scenarios in which people are in love, in many different ways. But that doesn't mean I understand it.
