It's here! :D
The second book in the series starts off with Tobias having a bit of a crisis because the thing with him and Noah is going too well, he fears to lose him like he lost his last sub (wasn't anyone's fault) and he's not dominating him enough. His friend Bradford, a fellow Dom and owner of Tobias' fav club, helps him out. And GOD is that an awesome kind of help! Might get the quotes later but let's just say that Bradford can be really dominating and dishonest answers result in clothes being taken off. *pleased fangirl*
...finished within three days. Now I pray to the deities of gay BDSM that the British Royal Mail (thingy?) delivers in time like they promised. On to quotes!
Bradford: "I didn't tell anyone you were coming; I thought it better not to advertise. This place goes into such a tailspin when you're expected." (then, about Brian) "Especially this one, eh, boy? What can Brian get you to drink Tobias?"
Tobias: "Chardonnay, pup. And you can let the kitchen know that I'm not playing."
Brian: "Yes, sir. Damn it, sir."
Really, I think I could read a whole lot of one shots about Tobias and a different boy each time. XD
For the next one, I could quote everything from page 11 till 14, but that'd take me forever to type so I'll try and get the highlights; the situation is the following: Tobias has started his contract with Noah and everything's going fine. Too much so actually and Bradford, being the good friend that he is, help Tobias see the problem. Probably my favorite scene in the book (among many others):
Tobias sighed. "Jesus. I'm so out of practice. Remind me where my reputation came from?"
"Out of practice, my ass," Bradford snorted. "Man or Mouse, Tobias?" he walked over to lean on a wall, crossing his arms over his chest. "Come here."
Tobias eyed him warily before standing up. He knew from experience that a flat no would be a bad idea, but he wasn't terribly reassured by his friend's stance. He deliberately made sure his clothes were neat and crisp before walking to Bradford, his chin up.
Bradford didn't move, didn't change his tone of voice, and didn't take his eyes off of Tobias. "Eyes down, forehead against the wall, hands behind your back -- oh, and give me your jacket."
Tobias froze. "You're not serious."
Bradford calmly raised an eyebrow. "Do it."
Isn't it beautiful? Sorry, I'm making a little cut here and just tell you that every time Bradford classifies one of Tobias' answers as not true or disrespectful he has him shed a piece of clothing.
"You haven't forgotten how to follow directions, that's something anyway. Here's one more for you. When I ask a question, I want a concise, truthful answer. (...) Understand?"
Tobias closed his eyes for a moment. "Yes, sir.", he said, keeping his tone matter-of-fact.
"Oh, that was nice. Thank you. Keep that up and you might end this session somewhat clothed."
Now Tobias did say before that part of his training as a Dom included being a sub, so he knows what it feel slike to be on the other end of a flogger or an instruction. Personally I loved that shift from him being his dominating self to yes, sir. XD
