Note: I started this fanmix awhile back. I never really got around to finishing it until today: the last day of my Christmas break. I have no idea why I felt compelled to finally complete this today but I'm pretty happy with the result. I guess I just didn't have enough songs for them before. As is obvious to anyone who's watched the series, this pairing is a crack!ship. Still, I love it to pieces. Something about them just makes me think they'd play off each other really well. I'll reserve the rest of the rambling for the mix itself. Just know that this is a fanon/head!canon mix focusing on why I like this pairing. In no way do I insist that this couple is canon. Prepare for a lot of ridiculous nonsense. ;)

[Quatre calls Dorothy kinder than him after she impales him on her fencing foil.In the depths of Libra, she may very well be in the presence of the first person to truly understand her, and his reward is to be mortally wounded. After this confrontation on Libra, Quatre and Dorothy are not seen interacting with each other again. Still, it would be foolish to deny that they have left a permanent mark on each other. At the very least, she's left a lasting physical scar on him to remind him that she exists. The first major face to face interaction we see between Quatre and Dorothy is in Episode 48. It involves a gunshot. Definitely an explosive beginning.]

[If a relationship between them ever did come to fruition, Quatre would quickly see that Dorothy is a woman who gets her way. With her history in espionage, she's definitely calculating. It wouldn't be surprising if Quatre got tangled in one or two of her schemes. Still, the two of them have been through a war together. He's the first person to understand her and reduce her to tears, enabling her to release some of the pain she's been keeping bottled up. Seeing as he's able to open her heart, there's a basis for them to at least become friends.]

[Both of them have a history of not exactly being the best children. In Quatre's Episode Zero, he was quite the prodigal son. Dorothy doesn't exactly cater to her grandfather's every whim either. The rest of the song details a partying lifestyle and it's not hard to imagine them having some post-war fun though not as extreme and self-destructive as what the lyrics depict. As for "good girls," Dorothy seems to have a thing for Relena during the series but with an obstacle like Heero in the way, that would make things difficult. I like to think of Dorothy as bisexual. [When Heero and Quatre are introduced to the class, Dorothy seems intrigued by both but she focuses more attention on Heero. It's not a stretch to think that she hardly ever took notice of Quatre. I don't think he really cared but this is my fanon. ;) Here, have another vid.]

[Dorothy is confidence personified and, as stated previously, I see her as having bisexual tendencies. Definitely an object of desire. Her character design has eyebrows that make her seem "unattractive" but nobody in canon seems to perceive her as not being beautiful. She's also extremely wealthy. If Quatre intends to pursue her, he would have his work cut out for him. I've vidded this song as well.]

[This sort of extends the theme from the previous track. It shows Dorothy has an arrogant streak. Still, it also implies that she's using this arrogance as a shield against letting people in since she shuns getting emotional. Just look at how quickly she "recovers" from seeing her grandfather blown up in front of her. And yes, this is from Camp Rock. I also chose it because I think Meaghan Jette Martin sounds like what I imagine Dorothy's English singing voice would be.]

[Self-explanatory. ;) This vid details how this song is relevant far better than I could.]

[Another self-explanatory choice. They're both slightly unhinged following the war. Coming together as two traumatized people could lead to something potentially passionate albeit a bit destructive. Yes, there's a vid to this but I used a cover. ;)]

[I mostly picked this because I see the instrumental parts as something that would play when Dorothy walks into a room. Also, something they would have sex to. Yes, they would have sex to something that sounds like a battle march. *is shot*]

[Basically, my opinion on the pairing. It doesn't really make too much sense and there would probably be a lot of conflict but it also seems to have a fun dynamic depending on who's playing with the fanon.]

[Another song showing my perception on the pairing. It may be a long shot but, if they take the chance, I think it could be beautiful. I'm assigning this song to Dorothy since, between the two of them, I see her as the one who would be more hesitant. However, I can see them both approaching a romantic relationship with apprehension. The song also talks about how intensity and unpredictability catches one by surprise. Seeing as Dorothy is quite the chessmaster who likes to plan everything, this is definitely her "falling in love with the unexpected" song.]

[They're two wealthy attractive people who just survived the war. A little hedonism wouldn't hurt. I can see Dorothy convincing him to indulge a little more seeing as she's the more extravagant of the two (gold limo, anyone?). I picked this cover by Anya Marina because I see Quatre being bisexual like Dorothy. "I know you ain’t never had a man like that." definitely applies. Dorothy would "Tell them other broke brothers be quiet." S'all I'm saying Quatre. ;) After all, you're going to be the reason she won't be playing with "good girls."]

[As mentioned earlier, Dorothy wouldn't be the easiest person to love. Trying to get into a romantic relationship with her might very well destroy the person who tries. However, if there's anyone who can survive her, it's Quatre. After all, he already lived through battle with her once. Yes, this isn't the most logical argument. Bear with me. It's crack. xD]

[This serves as a perfect counterpoint to the previous track. Though Dorothy would prove difficult, I don't see Quatre backing down from a challenge. By letting her into his heart, he may very well get her to open hers. In a way, they could heal each other of the heartbreak the world has inflicted on them.]
