its been an endless stream of feeling good. You know how I feel. I feel good.
Lets go backwards starting with NOW.
Right now I sit in the Adelaide Uni computer pool. Pool. I'm swimming in computers. Corinne sits next to me at her terminal and I at mine. We ran into each other by chance as I was intending to go to meet Aimee and Kaf at the markets but my credit ran out and I didn't have a way to find them. Then...as if by universal design, a hand taps my shoulder and its Corinne. So we walk to uni together.
Earlier was a lunch with Te-yu who I haven't seen since my 20th last year. He hasn't been reading my LJ lately either...so if you read this, t, leave a comment to show your loyalty ;P I'm waiting!! We window-shopped despite him being about to go to Melbourne for the next few days on a shopping-and-play trip. And we had a nice Japanese meal (I put a little too much mustard into my noodles and made them extra-spicy.
Before that was breakfast with Zoe and 21-years-and-one-day-old Esha. We spent the first half in Etc where I had ricotta, strawberries, pistaccio and some other nut and honey all in a bowl. It was awesome. Then we headed over to Cibo because Zoe was given some free coffee vouchers for handing in an $100 note she found on the ground there. I had a SentimentalT and felt sentimental. It was the last intimate time with Esha before she goes to København next Tuesday and we hugged in a triangle a lot. Bittersweet times, good times.
Last night it was to the Ed where there were strippers. I was shocked and a little excited. Just a short night out.
Before that it was Esha's birthday at the beach. A mind-blowing group of people convened and we just ate good food (honey on french toast for me) and had good conversation.
The night before that I was at work and was totally in my element. My boss Josette even gave me a coy smile the next night and told me that she was really happy with the way I was and what I was doing. My lesson was from 7 to 8, and at 7:45 or so Dani, Ally, Nicole and Nicki came in for their 8:00 lesson. I had a quick chat with them before they had to start but it was just FUN FUN FUN. Ally even made a comment to me that really stuck. It was "You look glad to be back, Brett".
And I am glad to be back. I really am. I am enjoying everyday right now more than ever. The other day I was just thinking about times in the markets in southernmost Shikoku. In Kochi. I've been thinking about the night that I told Rina and Seiji that we would all go and buy the most bizarre dish they could and the best-tasting one would win a prize. It was just warm and fun. And southern. And hot. And awesome. So yes I am glad to be back but I'm still feeling a little torn.
Anyway...I should get going soon because I have to catch a bus in a short, short while.
Tonight I have work followed by a short night out followed by breakfast with Alicia followed by setting up my work for the christmas social. Tomorrow night all the students come along to the school and bring either a plate of food (if they're a female) or a drink (male) and we just dance the night away. I'm rather excited. Following that is cake at Esha's.
