[Notes] Jinwoon and Seulong are up to something and Kwon is determined to find out what. Belated birthday fic for blinkbling24. ♥ Angst and just a dash of chaos, because I apparently can't pull away from that. ^^; Enjoy!

Kwon spent the next few days in the library and away from everyone else.

Angered by how he was treated, Wooyoung was giving him the cold shoulder, going so far as to spend the nights with Nichkhun. Their room plunged into insufferable silence whenever they happened to be inside at the same time. Nichkhun, who felt obligated to keep his distance as Wooyoung's boyfriend, could only shoot him sympathetic glances when they passed each other in the hallways.

Junho, on the other hand, initially dealt with his rage in a less immature fashion. Though his responses were curt, he was still considerably civil, masking his grudge with one of his usual smiles. It was only when Junsu uploaded a picture of Junho (in the sundress, complete with wig and ribbon stockings) onto Twitter that Kwon took to avoiding the frat house entirely.

And then there was Jinwoon -- the boy who had kept a secret from him, who had spent every evening with another man in the privacy of his room; the boy who had lied to him.

Thinking about it made Kwon's chest burn intensely, unwanted images of that accursed fansite flooding his mind, so he chose to wash it out with dates and facts from his history textbooks instead.

Next to his papers, his phone buzzed, but Kwon paid no heed; he had been eluding Jinwoon - it may have been a tad obvious after he practically bolted down the fire escape upon seeing Jinwoon through the peephole of his apartment door - and when he didn't answer Jinwoon's messages, the other boy had started calling him.

"There you are!"

Kwon raised his head to see Seulong glaring at him a few aisles down. Behind him stood Taecyeon and Chansung, looking decidedly uncomfortable.

"Hyung," said Chansung quietly. "I think we should leave him alone."

"Like hell," growled Seulong, advancing on Kwon menacingly. "No one skips football practice, much less four in a row. He's defying my authority is what he's doing!"

Balling his fists, Kwon rose from his seat, as Taecyeon hurriedly blurted to Seulong about a bad week. He had been searching for an outlet to unleash his fury and the perfect opportunity had presented itself. Drawn by a potential drama enfolding in the middle of the library, a crowd also began to gather around them.

"Explain yourself," Seulong snarled, now looming over him with his impressive height.

Anyone else may have been frightened out of their wits at the sight, but Kwon lifted his chin defiantly. "Shouldn't that be my line?" he said calmly, eliciting gasps from the peanut gallery. The anger bubbled inside, threatening to spill over, but he kept it in check; not yet.

"What?" said Seulong dangerously.

"You and Jinwoon," Kwon said, not bothering to mince words. "Behind my back."

Even a distance away, he could hear Chansung and Taecyeon inhaling sharply. Before him, Seulong wasn't quite looming so much anymore; on the contrary, the boy almost seemed to shrink into himself, clearly flustered. The change was obvious - too obvious - that it only made Kwon angrier. "It- It wasn't supposed to go on for so long..." Seulong's eyes darted to the ceiling. "I was just... y'know..."

"Well how long has it been going on, exactly?" said Kwon. His heart was clenching and there was a sting in his eyes, but he ploughed on. "Were you ever planning to tell me?"

The onlookers waited with bated breath.

"Can we not do this in front of an audience?" Seulong said, biting his lower lip nervously. "Huh, Kwonnie?"

At the nickname, Kwon snapped, and the rage that lurked beneath the surface frothed and surged upwards in a large tidal wave. "You think it's funny don't you?" he hissed. "You think it's a great idea to just steal Jinwoon and make him your own, while stupid, oblivious Jo Kwon keeps thinking everything's hunky dory!"

"'Hunky dory' sounds like a fusion dish," Chansung whispered loudly, only to have his head smacked forward by Taecyeon.

"Oh yes, yes, it's so totally cool for you to do that," Kwon said without missing a beat, "Totally hip for the great, big football captain to take other people's boyfriends! All you have to do is walk up to them and flex your oiled muscles and everyone falls for it! Everyone! That's what the popular kids do anyway, right? Right?"

He halted for a moment to take a breath. Around them, people were whispering in hushed tones.

Seulong, meanwhile, had been listening without a word to the tirade, his jaw lowered. He finally held up a hand when Kwon opened his mouth again. "Wait," said Seulong, looking thoroughly baffled. "What are we talking about?"

Then Kwon faltered. That wasn't the reaction he was expecting. "Jinwoon cheating on me with you, of course!"

As one, the crowd reared back in shock, and the low murmuring returned in earnest.

It seemed to take Seulong a few seconds longer to recover, but he quickly cut into the whispers with a strangled yelp. He turned to their audience and shook his hands wildly. "I did no such thing! I'm straight, okay, straight as a pole!!"

"Then how do you explain the whispers and secret meetings?" Kwon said, folding his arms across his chest.

"Didn't Jinwoon tell you yet!?" Seulong said, growing more agitated as people around them made noises of disapproval.

"He's been avoiding Jinwoon," Chansung supplied helpfully.

"Only because Jinwoon's been gallavanting with Seulong," Kwon countered.

"Oh for god's sake," said Seulong, slapping his forehead so audibly that even Chansung winced. "He was teaching me how to play the guitar!"

"Gui--"

"Guitar?" echoed Taecyeon and Chansung.

"Yeah," said Seulong, sporting an absolutely pained expression; he must have revealed more than he had intended. "Friend of mine lent me his guitar without a case, so I had to use a slingbag..."

Kwon stared. "Then why so secretive about it?" he said, incredulous.

"Because," Seulong grimaced, hesitating for a moment. There appeared to be some sort of inner struggle going through his head as he rocked on his heels, before he finally came to a decision and leaned towards Kwon.

"Because I intend to play it as a surprise for Shin Min-Ah."

"What?" said Kwon, frowning.

"Because I intend to play it for Shin Min-Ah," Seulong repeated.

Kwon's temple creased. "I really can't hear--"

"I wanted to play a bloody serenade for Shin Min-Ah, all right!" Seulong shouted, his face flaring dark pink.

A long, awkward silence filled the air, punctured only by Taecyeon's snort. Bored by the anti-climatic turn of events, the crowd quickly dispersed, muttering in disappointment amongst themselves.

Kwon wasn't sure how to feel. On one hand, he was immensely relieved; on the other, he wanted to strangle someone: everything, from the last few days of misery to his friends' animosity, was all for naught. But before he could muster his emotions, his phone buzzed.

"I think you should pick up," Chansung said. "Jinwoon's been really worried."

Whether it was his subconscious desire to hear Jinwoon's voice, or a surprised reaction prompted by Chansung's unexpected display of intuition, Kwon obediently answered the call.

"Kwon?" said Jinwoon, sounding so hopelessly lost that Kwon wanted nothing more than to hold him and tell him it was all right. "Can we talk? Please?"

"Seulong told me everything," Kwon said softly. He couldn't see Jinwoon, but the younger boy's sigh of relief was so audible and so tangible that he had to smile. "I'll meet you in your room, okay?"

"Okay," Jinwoon said, sniffling slightly; had he been crying? "Okay, I'll be waiting..."

"Be nice to him, huh? Poor kid was just keeping his promise of confidentiality," said Seulong, after Kwon got off the phone. The big football player was massaging his cheeks between his hands in an attempt to rid of the flush. "Not that it's a secret anymore, thanks a heap."

"All's well that ends well," Chansung piped up, before Kwon could apologize. Whipping out his wallet, he pulled a passport size photograph out of one of the card pockets and flashed it with a proud grin. "I even got to see Junho as a girl!"

"That's nerd boy?" Seulong said in disbelief, just as Taecyeon snatched the photograph and asked, "Where can I get a copy?"

As Kwon collected his books and hurried off to see his anxious boyfriend, he wondered how long it would take before he could finally visit the frat house again without fearing for his life.

When Kwon arrived at his room, Jinwoon immediately engulfed him into a firm hug. Kwon clutched Jinwoon's shirt and pushed his face into Jinwoon's neck, breathing in the familiar scent; he wasn't sure how he had survived the past four days without it. Jinwoon, in return, tightened his grip round Kwon's shoulders, trembling ever so slightly.

They stayed like that for a while, mutely relishing in each other's touch, until Jinwoon murmured into Kwon's ear, his voice hoarse and scratchy. "You're not still mad, are you?"

"No," Kwon said gently. He pressed his lips against Jinwoon's exposed collarbone. "You're not still crying, are you?"

Jinwoon shook against him as he laughed. "No way," he said, and without looking, Kwon could mentally picture that adorable pout, "I'm not a crybaby."

"Of course not," said Kwon, giving in. Slowly, he pulled out of the hug and gazed up at Jinwoon. He had so many unanswered questions - why couldn't Jinwoon have trusted him with Seulong's (ridiculous) secret, how could Jinwoon have lied so easily to him, why had Jinwoon allowed this to go on for so long - but when Jinwoon smiled fondly at him, his reddened, puffy eyes shrinking into pretty half-moons, cheeks still flushed from too much crying, Kwon instantly knew -- his boyfriend was merely simple-minded; too loyal, especially to his friends.

With the realization, warmth swirled up and through his chest, and rising up on his toes, Kwon slid a hand on the back of Jinwoon's neck to push the other boy down for a kiss.

"No more secrets" Kwon whispered against Jinwoon's mouth.

"I promise," Jinwoon whispered back, and Kwon smiled; he should've come up with that one a long time ago.

With fresh evidence in hand, Kwon marched confidently up to Jinwoon, who stood waiting for him outside the lecture hall for their next class. Jinwoon, recognizing the determined look on his face, gave him a questioning smile. "Where were you at 2000 hours yesterday," Kwon said sharply.

Jinwoon blinked. "Band practice, of course."

"Ah-HAH," Kwon cried, pointing an accusing finger at Jinwoon. "Caught redhanded!"

"What?" said Jinwoon.

"Wooyoung saw you with Seulong yesterday." Kwon paused for dramatic effect. "In the East Quad dorms."

To Kwon's amazement, Jinwoon laughed. "We practise in the dorm's small seminar room for our extra sessions," the vocalist said smoothly. "I just ran into Seulong-hyung when I went out to get a drink."

Kwon opened his mouth. Then he closed it again, panic fluttering through his stomach and up his chest; in one swift move, his proof had so easily crumbled to pieces. "So... so why was Seulong even there?"

"I told you, hyung, I don't know."

When Jinwoon's eyes curved innocently, the tendrils of fear and frustration and rage curled and wove together into a giant ball inside Kwon and, now far too large to control, exploded out of the small boy in the form of a shrill scream. Hands flying to his ears, Jinwoon reared back in shock. Students walking past the lecture hall stopped to stare.

Unfazed that they had an audience, Kwon bared his teeth at Jinwoon in a fierce snarl. "There's something going on between you two and I will find out what!" he said, before he spun and stormed away, looking for all the world like a 12-year-old who had just been denied his candy.

Somewhere down the hall, someone else let loose a scream of anguish, before a gaggle of girls thundered by, squealing incoherently about some poster and their oppa looking ever so pretty in a sundress.

"What about class?" Jinwoon said to no one in particular.

"You do realize," said Changmin, as Kwon took a big gulp of his jasmine tea (and scalded his tongue with a hiss), "That you haven't asked Seulong about this?"

Kwon stuck his tongue out, fanning vigorously at it. "If my own boyfriend won't thay anything," he said, slurring slightly, "Why would Theulong?"

"Maybe Jinwoon's lips are sealed by Seulong," Changmin said, then smirked when Kwon nearly bit on his tongue in horror. "Sorry, poor choice of words. Maybe Seulong told him not to say anything," he corrected.

Kwon shoved at the older boy angrily.
