Well, and when we're in public places, there's just so much noise! Music coming out of different stores or buildings, the muffled sound coming from other people's headphones, background elevator music of sorts. It all tends to blend together and sometimes you have to block your mind from the intruding chaos of sound.

Ha! It's true! I don't think I've seen that before, but since you're probably at work and potentially bored, and I'm working through this mess of papers and need to take frequent breaks, I guess we both experienced such things as the need to comment simultaneously! :)

I studied and played the violin very seriously until about age 20. So I do have an advantage. I noticed in the article that the only people who stopped had studied the violin at some point.
