Had a good day today. Went to class and turned in successfully completed research paper on sex education, had homeslice for lunch, bought a new summer swimsuit (black bottoms, purple tie-dye top because I am hopelessly hippie) and did Barton Springs with Esther this afternoon. She brought her hula hoop and we both practiced with it, and met two other girls who had their hoops with them as well! I'm slightly crispy, still very sleepy from the sun, and destined for skin cancer.
I find myself thinking about and/or troubling myself over the future a lot lately. I'm antsy to move out (most likely to Emma's apartment complex!) but lacking the funds (how is this possible?! I live at home, for fucks' sake!) and puzzling over the yet another job transfer I'd have to endure in order to pull off living in town. I love my job at Rise and Shine, and perhaps if I found a cheap enough apartment, I could continue to work there. Second job during summer is definitely happening. I'm very happy about my $355 tax return, which I don't even know how I managed to get, but I'm not questioning it.
There are so many things rolling around in my head. I constantly go back and forth between being happy single or wishing I was in a relationship (or rather, wondering how the hell I'm going to meet someone?), wanting more time to blog on the blog I created, plans for a feminist zine, ideas for art/photo projects, what I'm going to write for my cover letter for the internship with the Texas Youth Leadership Council.. sadly, I can't devote time to any of this (except the internship application, which is due next week) until after school is over. I am determined to be productive and creative this summer.
Time to finish out SATC and take a shower before bed! I'm stoked I don't have work until saturday. Plans for tomorrow include finishing my epic room cleansing, and starting my presentation/paper on FGC for global issues. Ideally, I should just finish it before the weekend, but.. well, I'm the procrastination queen. We shall see.
